Adding a SAP MaxDB Instance to a SAP MaxDB System

You can add a SAP MaxDB instance.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

  2. On the Overview page, from the Add instance list, select Database server.

  3. On the Configure database instance page, select SAP for MaxDB, and then click Next.

  4. On the Add SAP for MaxDB instance page, enter the following details:

    1. From the Server name list, select a SAP MaxDB server name.

    2. In the Credential name field, enter a credential name.

    3. From the Plan list, select a plan.

    4. Select an existing Database credential or add a new credential.

      Steps to add a new database credential
      1. Click +.

        The Add Credential dialog box appears.

      2. From the Account type list, select a database account.

      3. In the Credential vault box, select a credential vault to store, share, and update account credentials with shared resources in your environment.

      4. In the Credential name box, enter the credential name of the database user.

      5. In the Username box, enter the user name of the database user that can be used to access SAP MaxDB database.

      6. In the Password box, enter the password of the database user.

      7. In the Description box, enter the credential description.

      8. Click Save.

    5. From the dbmcli Executable Path field, browse a correct dbmcli path.

      Note

      Run the command from the DBM client interface to find the dbmcli path.

      • For Windows - where dbmcli

      • For Linux - which dbmcli

  5. Click Add.
