Solutions this applies to: File storage optimization, file system content indexing, Office 365, sensitive data governance, virtual machine file indexing
When you first configure a new index server, by default it will consume half of the allocated physical memory on the server (up to 32GB max). After the initial configuration, you can adjust the memory on an index server manually.
Important
Adjusting the allocated memory will automatically restart the Data Cube service on the index server node. This will temporarily interrupt any active index server operations.
Before You Begin
- When calculating how much memory you should allocate per node for the index server, you must consider the cumulative effect of the solutions that will utilize the index server. For more information on memory utilization for these solutions, see the hardware guidelines for each solution you plan to use with the index server.
Procedure
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.
The Infrastructure page appears.
-
Click the Index servers tile.
The Index servers page appears.
-
In the Name column, click the index server.
The index server properties page appears.
-
On the Overview tab, in the Nodes section, click Edit from the Actions menu.
The Edit node dialog box appears.
-
In Memory allocation (MB), specify the memory for the index node.
-
Click Save.
In the Nodes section, the updated Memory allocation (MB) value is displayed.
