Assign a protection plan to Google Cloud resources

Manually select discovered resources or apply filters to assign a protection plan (backup plan) and control how resources are protected.

Assign a protection plan

To assign a protection plan, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Discover > Google Cloud.

  2. Click the Resources tab.

  3. Use one of the following methods:

    • Select the resources, and then click Assign plan > Assign plan to resources.

    • Specify filter criteria, and then click Assign plan > Create plan from filters.

    Note

    Resources must belong to the same connection, workload type, and project, and region.

  4. Complete the configuration wizard.

Run backup and restore for protected resources

You can perform backup and restore operations directly from the Resources tab. The Actions menu displays options based on the Protection status of the resource:

  • If a protection plan is assigned but no backup has completed, the status is Protection configured. Only the Backup option is available.

  • If at least one backup has completed successfully, the status is Commvault-protected. Both Backup and Restore options are available.

To run an on-demand backup, click Backup. To restore a resource, click Restore.
