Use AI-recommendations to assign protection plans. Commvault uses Arlie to analyze discovered AWS resources and recommend appropriate protection plan (backup plan)s.

Recommendations are generated only for resources not already protected using Commvault.

Recommendations may apply to multiple resources that share the same configuration properties.
View protection plan recommendations
To view protection plan recommendations, follow these steps:

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Cloud Discovery > AWS.

On the Overview tab, in the Resource summary tile, click View Protection Recommendations.

Select a recommended backup plan and resources.

Click Assign plan > Assign plan to resources.

Complete the configuration wizard to configure backup for the selected resources.
Run backup and restore for protected resources
You can perform backup and restore operations directly from the Resources tab.

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Cloud Discovery > AWS.

Click the Resources tab.

The Actions menu displays options based on the Protection status of the resource:

If a protection plan is assigned but no backup has completed, the status is Protection configured. Only the Backup option is available.

If at least one backup has completed successfully, the status is Commvault-protected. Both Backup and Restore options are available.
