After you create a scale configuration, Commvault automatically creates a scale profile client with the same name. You can view this client on the Manage > Infrastructure > Servers page when the All filter is selected.
Associate the scale profile client with a server group, either manually or by using smart client group rules.
This association is required because the server group defines the configuration that dynamically deployed access nodes inherit. By associating the scale profile client with a server group, you can configure the network topology, communication routes, network rules, permissions, and any additional settings. All compute nodes deployed from the scale configuration automatically inherit these settings.
If the server group does not have an associated topology, create a topology that includes the server groups and infrastructure machines.
If you use a firewall topology, ensure that the scale profile client belongs to the correct topology-participating groups.
You can use the smart client group rule Is Scale Profile = True to automatically place scale profile clients in the appropriate groups.
