Indexing V2 Migration Behavior
During a client software upgrade, only database instances that use indexing V1 are evaluated for migration to indexing V2. Other packages on the same client are not affected.
Migration Behavior
-
The system attempts the migration automatically during the client upgrade.
-
If any database instance on the client uses Snap and has a pending backup copy, the migration is skipped for the entire client. All database instances continue to use indexing V1.
-
If the migration is skipped, the system retries the migration during the next client software upgrade.
Snap-enabled Subclients
For Snap-enabled subclients, the first backup after a successful migration is a full backup to ensure data consistency.
