Backing Up an Apache Hive Subclient On Demand

You can back up a Hive subclient on demand.

Before You begin

• The Beeline utility must be installed on the Hive node.

• The HiveServer2 node must be part of the Hadoop cluster.

• In secure Hive environments, provide the keytab file location of the Hive user in the configuration file on the Hive node.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Big data.

   The Big data page appears.

2. Click the cluster that has the Hive app added.

   The cluster page appears.

3. Under Hadoop Apps, click Hive.

   The app page appears.

4. Click the Table groups tab.

5. Under Table groups, in the row for the subclient, click the action button , and then click Back up.

   The Select backup level dialog box appears.

6. For Backup level, select the backup type.

7. Click OK.
