Configure backups for IBM Cloud Object Storage buckets and objects.
Navigate to Service Catalog
- From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Explore > Service catalog.
Choose IBM Cloud Object Storage

On the Object Storage tile, click Configure.

Select IBM Cloud Object Storage.
The File & Object Trial message appears.

Click Continue.
Access Node
-
Select an existing access node or configure a new access node where the Cloud Apps package is installed.
Note

The access nodes must be of similar operating system type.

All servers in the server group must be reachable through network routes.

Click Next.
Plan Creation
- Select an existing backup plan or create a new backup plan to associate with IBM Cloud Object Storage, and then click Next.
Add Object Storage

In Name, enter a descriptive name for the objects storage instance.

In Host URL, enter the IBM Cloud Object Storage account URL with the region-based endpoint.
For example, s3.us-east.cloud-object-storage.appdomain.cloud.

From the Credential list, select existing credentials or create new credentials for the IBM Cloud Object Storage account.
To add credentials to the Credential Manager, click the plus button (+).
The Add Credential dialog box appears.

Enter the following information:

Credential name: Enter a name for the credentials that you are creating.

User account: Enter the access_key_id from the service credentials JSON created in the IBM console.

API key: Enter the secret_access_key from the service credentials JSON created in the IBM console.
Note
To generate the JSON that you can use while configuring the IBM Cloud object storage repository, in the IBM console, ensure that the Include HMAC Credential option is enabled.

Description: Enter a description for the credentials.

Click Save.

Click Next.
Choose Backup Content

Select the backup content you want to protect, such as containers and objects.

Click Add, and do one of the following:

To enter a custom path, click Custom path, and then enter the path for the content.

To browse for content, click Browse, and then select the content.

To exclude some of the content you selected, move the Specify exclusion toggle key to the right, and then add the exclusion.

Summary
- Review your selections, and then click Finish to complete the configuration.
