Browsing and Restoring Messages Using Exchange Mailbox

Plan your restore operations according to your requirements.

You can browse for the items that you want to restore from the backup set, the subclient, or the mailbox level.

Important

Internet Information Services (IIS) application pool recycling on the Web Server can interrupt restore jobs that run for more than 24 hours. Commvault does not recommend disabling IIS application pool recycling.

To avoid interruptions, split large restores into smaller jobs that can complete within 24 hours. For example, instead of restoring 200 mailboxes to PST files in one job, run four jobs of 50 mailboxes each.

Destination Clients

The items that appear in the Destination host list depend on where you want to restore the messages.

  • When you select Mailbox, the available destination clients are the available Exchange Mailbox servers.

  • When you select PST File or Disk, the available destination hosts are the physical clients.
