Configure auto-scaling

Configuring auto-scaling for Azure access nodes with Scale Manager includes identifying the Azure subscription where the auto-scaled access nodes are deployed and a scale manager node to manage auto-scaling, adding a scaling configuration, and then adding the scaling configuration client to the hypervisor access node.

For information about creating a scaling configuration, see Create a scaling configuration for Azure.

Multi-tenant environments

In multi-tenant environments:

  • Service providers can offer auto-scaling with a scaling configuration as a service.

  • Tenants can either use their service providers' scaling profile configuration or configure their own scaling profile.

Add a Scale Configuration Client to the Server Group That Specifies Network and Permission Settings

You can add a scale configuration client to an existing server group or a new server group that defines topology and permissions settings, which is then automatically applied to all compute nodes.

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure > Server groups.

  2. Click Add, enter a name for the server group, and then select Manual association.

  3. Associate the pseudo scale configuration client.
