Configuring a Subclient for Block-Level Backups of PostgreSQL Databases

You can enable block-level backup on a default database group of an FS based backup set.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database Overview tab appears.

  2. On the Instances tab, click an instance.

    The instance Overview page appears.

  3. On the Database groups tab, click the database group for which you want to enable running Block-Level backup operations.

    The database group Overview tab appears.

  4. In the General tile, move the Use volume copy (Block level backup) toggle key to the right.

    Under the Snapshot management section, by default, the Enable snap backup toggle is enabled with native snap engine that you can change later.

  5. In the Snapshot management section, click the Edit button to update the options if required.

    The Snapshot management dialog box appears.

  6. In the Additional options section, enter the following optional details if required:

    1. From the Access node for snap operations list, select an access node for snap operation.

    2. From the Separate access node for backup copy list, select an access node for backup copy.

  7. Move Use source if access node is unreachable toggle to right if you can not reach the access node and want the system to use the source.

  8. Click Save.
