You can convert storage policies created in the CommCell Console to laptop plans that you can access and manage from the Command Center.
During the conversion, you can select one or more subclient policies that are associated with the same storage policy, even if they are of different policy types.
After the conversion, the users, user groups, and client computers linked to those subclient policies are automatically associated with the new laptop plan.
You can also:

Configure alerts to send notifications when backup jobs fall behind or when restore jobs fail.

Set quotas to limit the amount of data that can be backed up.
Procedure

Import the Policy to Plan Migration application from the Commvault Store using the cvstoreapp package.

Run the Policy to Plan Migration application.

Click Laptop Plan.
The Laptop Plan box expands.

Click the link in the Click here to proceed text.
The Plan Conversion – Status window appears.

Under Step 1, click the link in the Click here to proceed text.
The Merge to Plan window appears.

Select one or more subclient policies that are associated with the same storage policy, and then click Next.
The Select schedule policy window appears.

Select a schedule policy, and then click Next.

In the User group quota (GB) field, specify the amount of data that can be backed up, and then click Apply.

In the Select plan alerts section, system-created alerts applicable to the plan are automatically selected.
You can select or clear specific alerts, and then click Apply.

From the EdgeDrive client list, select the client computer, and then click Finalize.
Results
After the process completes, an API is generated based on the settings you specified. You can:

Save the API locally.

Save and execute the API.
-
Execute the API directly to merge the selected policies into a new laptop plan.
