Restore filtered disks
You can restore an empty VM disk for a disk that is excluded from backup. In the Restore Options page, enable the Recreate filtered disks toggle key.
Note
The Commvault software restores a disk as an empty disk only if this option is enabled and the disk is excluded from the backup. For information about excluding disks from backups, see Modify settings for VMware vSphere VM groups.
