Create an Amazon EC2 hypervisor for replication

Create an Amazon EC2 hypervisor so Commvault can access your AWS account when you create replication groups and run replication operations through access nodes.

  1. In Name, enter a descriptive name for the hypervisor.

  2. To limit this hypervisor to specific AWS Regions, expand Advanced options, and then do the following:

    1. For Regional endpoints, clear All public regions.

    2. Select the public or private Regions to use, and then click Ok.

  3. Select the authentication method:

  4. IAM role for Amazon EC2: Select this option if the access nodes you’ll use have an IAM role associated with them in the AWS console.

  5. Access keys for IAM users: Select this option if you’ll authenticate with an access key ID and secret access key for an IAM user.

  6. AWS STS AssumeRole: Select this option if you’ll authenticate by assuming an AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) role. Make sure the credential includes the Role ARN.

  7. Based on the authentication method, from the Credential list, select the saved credential to use or create new credentials.

  8. If you already configured a hypervisor for a service account, enable the Use service account resources toggle, and then select the service account from the list.

  9. From the Access nodes list, select one or more access nodes to use for replication operations.

  10. Click Save.
