Create an access node on Azure before you configure Azure VM protection if you use your own infrastructure. You can also use this procedure to deploy additional access nodes.
Requirements

You must have the Contributor role for the Azure subscription where you'll deploy the access node.

If you're using Commvault software, have the following information available:

If you're using Commvault Cloud, have the following information available:

Commvault Gateway URL

Add Access Node
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.

Click the Access nodes tile.
-
In the upper-right area of the page, click Add.
-
From the Vendor list, select Microsoft Azure.

From the Deployment type list, select any of the following:

Vendor native deployment
-
From the Platform list, select the operating system.

For Deploy Custom Template, click Deploy the Custom Template or click Copy Link and paste the URL into a browser.

In the Azure portal, review the deployment information.

On the Basics tab, specify the resource group, region, virtual machine name, and other required deployment settings.

On the Commvault Configuration tab, enter the required Commvault information.

For Commvault Cloud, enter the Commvault Gateway URL and Installation authcode.

For Commvault software, enter the CommServe host name, CommServe name, and Installation authcode.

Review the deployment settings.

Deploy the ARM template.

Wait for the deployment to complete.

Verify that the access node appears in Manage > Infrastructure > Access nodes.

Manual deployment
Use this procedure to install the Commvault software on a computer that you'll use as an access node.
Windows
-
From the Platform list, select Windows.
-
Click Download package to download the installation package.
-
Copy the installation Auth code. You'll enter this code during the installation.

Copy the installation package to the Windows computer that you'll use as the access node.

Run the installation executable as an administrator.

Follow the installation wizard.

Select the installation language.

Verify that the required packages for the access node are selected.

Specify the installation directory, if required.
-
Configure the firewall settings, if prompted.

Provide the CommServe host name, if prompted.

Paste the installation Auth code.

Complete the installation.

Return to the Command Center and verify that the computer appears on the Access nodes page.
Linux
-
From the Platform list, select Linux.

Click Download package to download the installation package.
-
Copy the installation Auth code. You'll enter this code during the installation.

Transfer the installation package to the Linux computer that you'll use as the access node.

Extract the installation package, if necessary.

Run the installation script (for example,
./cvpkgadd) as the root user or by usingsudo. -
Follow the installation prompts.
