Creating a break-glass account

You create a break-glass account to ensure continued access in case tenant admins are locked out. It provides a way to gain access to the Commvault software when standard access methods become unavailable.

Procedure

1. Log on to the Command Center as tenant admin of the company.

2. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Explore > Companies.

3. Click the Company.

4. On the Overview tab, in the Break-glass account section, click Generate break-glass account.

5. Carefully review all the warnings and then proceed to create the break-glass account.

6. When the Commvault software creates an account, you must copy and securely save the account credentials displayed on the screen.

To maintain secure access, a tenant administrator who logs in using the break-glass account is forced to reset the BGA password each time.
