Creating a Cluster Group to Back Up Specific Amazon Redshift Clusters

You can create cluster groups for the Amazon Redshift clusters that you want to back up.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database overview page appears.

  2. On the Instances tab, from the list of Instances, select Cloud DB.

    The Instances page for cloud databases appears.

  3. Click the instance.

    The instance page appears.

  4. Click the Cluster groups tab and then click Create cluster group.

    The Create cluster group dialog box appears.

  5. In the Cluster group box, type a name for the cluster group.

  6. From the Plan list, select the backup plan to use for the backups.

    Note

    For export-based backups, select a plan that uses Air Gap Protect AWS S3 storage. The storage and the Redshift cluster must be in the same AWS region.

  7. To enable export-based backups, do the following:

    After you enable export-based backups, you can't disable them.

    • Move the Enable export based backups toggle key to the right.

    • In Number of data streams, enter the number of data streams to use for backups.

    • From the Database user credentials list, select an existing credential or create a new credential. The user must have access to all entities across all databases in the cluster.

  8. In the Backup content section, select the clusters or the instances that you want to back up. You can select complete regions and instances within regions.

  9. Click SAVE.
