Creating a Virtual Machine

You can create and customize your own virtual machine. You can make snapshots from backups of your virtual machine.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Settings > Workload > VM Management.

    The VM Management page appears.

  2. Click the Virtual machines tile.

    The Virtual machines page appears.

  3. Click Create.

    The Virtual Machine Pool page of the Create Virtual Machine wizard appears.

  4. From the Virtual machine pool list, select the VM pool.

  5. Click Next.

    The General page of the Create Virtual Machine wizard appears.

  6. In the Name box, enter a virtual lab name.

  7. In the Description box, enter a description.

  8. In the Number of Virtual machines box, enter the number of virtual machines that you want to create.

    If you are creating more than one virtual machine, each virtual machine will be created with the name that you specified, with a number added to the end.

    For example, if you create three virtual machines named MyVMBob, the virtual machines will be named : MyVMBob1, MyVMBob2, and MyVMBob3.

  9. For Expiration date, select a date on which the virtual lab will expire.

  10. From the Template list, select the VM template.

  11. Click Next.

    The Credentials page of the Create Virtual Machine wizard appears.

  12. In the Password and Confirm password boxes, enter a new password for the administrator user for virtual machines.

  13. Click Next.

    The Resources page of the Create Virtual Machine wizard appears.

  14. To increase the disk size for OS, do the following:

    1. In the Disks table, in the row for OS disk, click the Edit button action_button.

    The Edit disk dialog box appears.

    1. In the Size (GB) box, enter the OS disk size.

    2. Click Save.

  15. In the Memory box, enter the memory for each VM.

  16. In the Number of CPUs box, enter the number of CPUs for each VM.

  17. In the Number of NICs, enter the number of NICs for the virtual machine.

    The Summary page of the Create Virtual Machine wizard appears.

  18. Review the summary.

  19. Click Submit.
