Data Views for the Index Backup Retention Report

This report displays information about indexes that are backed up on media, as well as the backup jobs they are protecting.

Index Backups

Column

Description

Index Backup Job ID

The ID number of the index backup job.

Client

Name of the client whose jobs are being protected by the index.

Agent

Type of agent used on the client.

Backupset

Name of the backup set whose jobs are being protected by the index.

Subclient

Name of the subclient whose jobs are being protected by the index.

Note

If the index is at the backupset level, the description shows "NA".

Storage Policy

The storage policy that is being used for the index backup job.

Storage Policy Copy

The storage policy copy that is being used for the index backup job.

Protected Backup Jobs (Oldest 4)

The backup jobs that are being protected.

Barcode/Mount Path

Barcode (in case of tapes) or mount path (in case of disk libraries) used for the index backup job.

CommCell

Name of the CommCell environment that the client is a part of.

Database

Index DB GUID (backup set GUID in case of a backupset level index and subclient GUID in case of a subclient level index).

Index Backup Afile Id

Arch file of the index backup.

Library

Library used for the index backup job.

Media Type

Type of media used for the index backup job.

Comments about the index backup job.

Remark Description
Pending aux copy Run the auxiliary copy job for the storage policy to age the index backup.
Associated subclients may now be using a different storage policy The associated subclients may now be using a different storage policy. These index backups will be aged when the protected backup jobs are aged. If not, enable (Change the value to 1) the Delete Checkpoints for not currently active storage policies option in control panel and then run data aging job.
To configure the option, on the CommCell Console, from the control panel, go to Storage > Media Management > Data aging > Configuration parameter.
We keep at least 3 per storage policy. It will age when new index backup is taken or all protected jobs age. The software retains at least 3 latest index backup jobs per storage policy and its copy, and will only age when new index backup job is added or when all the protected jobs age.
Protecting backup jobs Index backup will be aged when the protected backup jobs are aged.
Please try running data aging job Run data aging job to age index backup.
Orphan There are no Protected backup jobs. Run data aging job.
