Data Views in the Report

Filters

  • Storage Policy Name: Choose the specific storage policy to analyze.

  • Copy Name: Select the desired secondary copy instance.

  • Time Frame: Set the data range (e.g., Last 1 Week).

Graph: Aux Copy Trending

  • Y-Axis (Size): Measured in multiples of bytes, this axis indicates the size of data over time.

  • X-Axis (Date): Timeline for the selected range.

  • Lines:

  • App Size Copied (Blue): Application-level data successfully copied.

  • App Size To Copy (Purple): Pending application data yet to be copied.

  • Storage Size Copied (Orange): Total size of data transferred at the storage level.

This graph helps determine how much of the expected data has been copied and trends in completion.

Graph: Write Throughput Trending

  • Y-Axis (Throughput Per Hour GB): Indicates the copy rate in GB/hour.

  • X-Axis (Date): Represents the progression over the selected dates.

  • Line (Light Blue): Shows fluctuations in write speed per hour.

Use this view to assess backup network or disk throughput efficiency. The graph shows a separate coloured line for each secondary copy selected.

Tab: Auxiliary Copy Status

Filters

  • Storage Policy Name /Copy Name: Specify which policy or copy to analyze.

  • Show Only Fallen Behind Copies: Filter only those needing attention.

  • To Be Copied Over Size (TB): Define a size threshold for a copy to be considered as fallen behind.

  • Job Over Days Old: Consider a copy as fallen behind if jobs older than N days not copied.

  • Copy Duration Threshold: Consider a copy as fallen behind if time taken to copy all the uncopied data is greater than this criteria.

Chart: Size To Copy By Storage Policy

The bar graph shows storage policy names. The Y-Axis shows the total data (in TB) yet to be copied. It offers a visual comparison across multiple storage policies.

Chart: Size To Copy By Storage Policy Copy

The chart is similar to the Size To Copy By Storage Policy chart but includes both policy and copy name. It is useful to differentiate individual copies under the same storage policy.

Summary Table

This table provides a high-level snapshot of auxiliary copy health across companies or business units. It is designed to give administrators a quick understanding of how many storage policies and individual copies are currently lagging, the total amount of data pending to be copied, and an estimate of the time required to complete the operations.

Column Description
Company Business unit or organization name
Fallen Behind SP Count Number of affected storage policies
Fallen Behind Copy Count Number of individual copies behind
Total Size To Be Copied Total pending data
Estimated Time To Copy Time needed to finish copying

Details Table

This table gives a detailed status per policy and is critical for root cause analysis.

Column Description
Storage Policy The name of the primary plan
Copy The name of the storage policy copy
Source Copy Source of backup (typically "Primary")
Days Since Oldest Job Age of the oldest pending copy job
Fallen Behind Reason Explanation for delay (e.g., job age or size threshold exceeded)
Total App Size To Copy Total application data to be copied
Status Current state (e.g., Warning)
Estimated Time To Copy Time left to complete copy
Jobs Failed To Be Copied Number of failed jobs
