Enable 1-Touch Recovery for AIX Computers

Enable 1-Touch recovery for the AIX client in Command Center.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

  2. On the Files tab, click the AIX client.

  3. On the Subclients tab, click select the default subclient or the specific subclient that you want to protect using 1-Touch.

    Note

When multiple subclients exist within a backup set, 1‑Touch can be enabled for only one subclient in that backup set.

  4. On the Protection summary tile, move the 1-Touch recovery toggle to the right.

  5. Click Edit against 1-Touch server.

  6. In the Edit 1-Touch recovery options dialog box, from the 1-Touch server list, select the AIX NIM server that will host recovery resources.

  7. In the 1-Touch server directory box, enter the directory path that will act as the TFTP directory during system recovery .

    For example: /tftpboot/commvault/1touch

    Note

Use a dedicated logical volume mounted to this directory. Size it to ≥ 2× rootvg of the largest client and (n + 1) × largest rootvg for n simultaneous recoveries.

  8. Click Save.

  9. Run a Full backup of the subclient.

This creates the MKSYSB-based 1-Touch backup and registers the client with the 1-Touch server.
