Enable Pre-Process and Post-Process Settings for CIFS Subclients

To automate tasks around CIFS backups, configure pre-process and post-process commands directly at hte subclient levels. These commands run before and after a subclient job, helping manage services, file states, or custom scripts.

Important

The pre- and post-script feature is not supported when auto-scaled access nodes are enabled on the subclient. Auto-scaling uses temporary access nodes that terminate after job completion. Because the nodes are not persistent, the system cannot execute pre-process or post-process scripts.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

The file servers Overview page appears.

  2. On the Files tab, click the file server.

    The file server page appears.

  3. Under Protocols, click CIFS.

    The CIFS Overview page appears.

  4. On the Subclients tab, click the subclient, and then go to the Configuration tab.

  5. On the Pre-process and post-process commands tile, click Advanced Settings.

    2. To run a command after the scan phase completes, enter the PostScan Process command.

    3. To enable the Run post-scan process for all attempts option, move the toggle key to the right. When this option is enabled, the PostScan Process command will run after every scan attempt, regardless of whether the scan was successful or failed.
