Enabling Streaming Backup Support for Splunk

You can use bReadLiveVolumeForSplunkBackupCopy registry key to configure the streaming backup for the Splunk agent. The key should be set on the master node. It allows to back up the indexes and read the splunk index data directly from the volume without taking the snapshots.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Settings > Advanced.

2. Click the Additional settings tile.

   The Additional settings page appears.

3. Click Add, and then select entity settings.

   The Add entity settings dialog box appears.

4. In the Name box, enter bReadLiveVolumeForSplunkBackupCopy.

5. From the Entity list, select the Master access node.

6. In the Category box, enter FileSystemAgent.

7. From the Type list, select Boolean.

8. In the Value box, enter True.

9. In the Comment box, enter an explanation for the change.

10. Click Save.
