Erasing the Spare Media from Media List

You can mark the media as erasable from the media list of a tape library and then erase all erasable media at the library level.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Storage > Tape.

   The Tape page appears.

2. Click the tape storage for which you want to erase the media.

3. Click the Media tab.

4. Select one or more media with the status Spare media, click the Actions button in the Media List heading, and then select Options > Mark media erasable.

5. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Storage > Tape.

   The Tape page appears.

6. Click the tape storage that contains the media that you marked as erasable.

   The Erase spare media dialog box appears with the list of media that you marked as erasable.

7. Select one of the options - Quick erase or Full erase.

8. Click Save.
