Extending Companies to Other Regions

In Commvault Cloud, a ring corresponds to a service CommCell. And, a service CommCell is associated with many regions. Further, each company in the service CommCell is associated with the same regions.

To add workloads in different regions to a company in the service CommCell, you can extend the company to those regions.

Procedure

  1. From the Commvault MSP Portal, go to Managed Accounts.

    The Managed Accounts page appears.

  2. Click Manage all accounts.

    The Companies page appears in the Command Center, showing all tenants.

  3. In the row for the company you want to extend to other regions, click actions Actions_dotted_button_black > Extend.
    The Select region dialog box appears.

  4. Select the region and country.
    In the Ring box, the ring corresponding to the selected region and country appears.

  5. Click OK.

Results

  • For an administrator, on the top right corner of the Commvault Cloud screen, from the Select a company list, the extended company appears for selection. Additionally, in the Ring list, the home ring Home_Ring and extended rings Extended_Ring appear for selection.

  • For a company user, on the top right corner of the Commvault Cloud screen, in the Ring list, the home ring Home_Ring and extended rings Extended_Ring appear for selection.

  • In the usage summary report, the aggregate workload usage data for the company across all the extended regions appear.
