The force delete operation is useful when a client, subclient, or a backup plan copy has been deleted or when a source MediaAgent is unavailable and you want to delete snapshots from the CommCell database. The force-deleted snapshots are not moved to tape and are not deleted on the array.
You can use the force delete operation on application clones.
Note
Since the Force Delete operation does not delete snapshots on the array, you need to delete the snapshot manually on the array.
Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.
The Infrastructure page appears.

Click the Arrays tile.
The Arrays page appears.

In the row for the storage array or the disk, click the action button
, and then click List snapshots. The List of snapshots page appears.

Select the snapshots that you want to delete.

In the upper-right area of the page, click Delete.
The Confirm delete dialog box appears.

Select the Release snap reservations check box.

Enter the confirmation text string, and then click Delete.
