Force Unmounting Snapshots of a Storage Array

The force unmount operation marks the snapshot as unmounted, and does not physically unmount the snapshot on the MediaAgent or on the storage array.

You can use the force unmount operation on multinode mounts.

Before You Begin

Unmap the snapshot from the storage array and clean up the mount host computer and the logical volume manager (LVM).

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.

   The Infrastructure page appears.

2. Click the Arrays tile.

   The Arrays page appears.

3. In the Actions column, click the action button , and then click List snapshots.

   The Snapshots created during IntelliSnap operation page appears.

4. Select one or more snapshots that you want to unmount.

5. In the Actions column, click the action button , and then click Unmount.

   The Confirm unmount dialog box appears.

6. Select the Release snap reservations check box.

7. Enter the confirmation text string, and then click Unmount.
