Getting Started with IBM i File System

Review each of the topics to get started with IBM i file system. Some of the steps require administrative knowledge of IBM i and must be implemented by or with assistance from an IBM i expert.

  1. Review the following requirements:

    1. IBM i

    2. IBM i Commvault VTL 2.0

  2. If your backup administrator has not already installed the Commvault package, then you must install it. For more information, see Commvault deployment steps.

  3. Obtain the Command Center URL and your Command Center user credentials from your backup administrator.

  4. Access the Command Center by using the URL that was displayed on the installation completion page, or that you received from your backup administrator.

  5. Configure core information by completing the Commvault deployment steps.

  6. Add the IBM i file server.

  7. Perform a backup.

  8. Perform a restore.
