Getting Started with Nutanix Files

Verify that the access node meets the hardware specifications and the environment meets the system requirements, add the access node, complete the file server service catalog, and then perform a test backup and restore.

Procedure

  1. Verify that your access node meets the software and hardware specifications to back up the CIFS shares and NFS exports.

  2. Verify that your Nutanix file server to be backed up has Nutanix Files 3.5 or a more recent version installed.

  3. To back up CIFS shares using Windows access nodes, verify that your environment meets the system requirements for the Windows access nodes.

  4. To back up CIFS shares using Linux access nodes, verify that your environment meets the System Requirements for CIFS Backups Using Linux Access Nodes.

  5. To back up NFS exports, verify that your environment meets the system requirements for the Linux access nodes.

  6. Verify that your access node meets the system requirements for Intellisnap backups.

  7. Add Nutanix Files.

  8. Add the storage array

  9. Enable IntelliSnap backups.

  10. Perform a test backup and restore.
