To prepare your Commvault environment for the upgrade using the HSX ISO released in June 2025 - 11.36 Hyperscale ISO 3.2506 or 11.32 Hyperscale ISO 3.2506 or 11.40 Hyperscale ISO 3.2506, verify that the following minimum Commvault versions are installed:
|
Base Commvault Version |
Minimum version for OS Upgrade |
|---|---|
|
11.32 |
11.32.102 or later |
|
11.36 |
11.36.60 or later |

To prepare the HyperScale X nodes for the OS upgrade, verify the following minimum HyperScale X Platform versions are installed on each node:
| HyperScale X Platform | Minimum HyperScale X Platform Version | |
|---|---|---|
| 11.32 | 2.2506 | |
| 11.36 | 2.2506 | |
| 11.40 | 2.2506 | |
Note
- HyperScale X MediaAgents should always be running the same Commvault platform and maintenance release as the CommServe.
- Verify that ICMP/PING requests between the default gateway and the HyperScale nodes are enabled. If requests are disabled, the network settings must be updated to allow ICMP/PING to the default Gateway for the duration of the HyperScale Platform upgrade.
Virtualized CommServe on HyperScale X Appliance
If a CommServe virtual machine is installed on one or more of the Appliance nodes, you must move the CommServe off the Appliance before proceeding with the upgrade. Rebuild the CommServe on a separate server outside of the HyperScale X cluster. For more information on rebuilding the CommServe software, see CommServe Hardware Refresh. The HyperScale X upgrade process will not proceed if the CommServe is running on a HyperScale X node.
