You can manually run the Upgrade to Indexing V2 workflow to migrate clients from indexing V1 to indexing V2.
Before You Begin
-
Run a full backup or synthetic full backup.
-
Verify that a Workflow Engine is installed.
-
Download the Upgrade to IndexingV2 workflow from the Commvault Store.
-
Stop all jobs on the client computers that this workflow will modify.
-
Gather the following information to use during workflow configuration:
-
The names of the clients or client groups that you want to migrate to indexing V2.
-
The type of agents installed on the client computers or client groups that you want to migrate to indexing V2.
- You can run the Upgrade to Indexing V2 workflow job only for client computers that use the same agent type. To migrate client computers with different agent types, run separate workflow jobs for each supported package type.
-
The number of client computers, from 1 to 20, that the workflow can process in parallel.
-
-
If you back up to tape media, ensure that the most recent cycle of tapes is available on site before migrating to indexing V2.
-
For file system clients with IntelliSnap enabled, consider the following:
-
Perform a backup copy of all IntelliSnap jobs before changing to the latest version of indexing.
-
Perform at least one IntelliSnap job for each subclient after upgrading.
-
Procedure
-
From the navigation pane, go to Workflows, and then click Upgrade to IndexingV2.
The Upgrade to IndexingV2 dialog box appears.
-
Beside Choose the component you would like to upgrade, run the workflow on clients or on a client group:
-
To configure the workflow for clients, select Client(s).
-
To configure the workflow for client groups, select Client Group.
-
-
In the Client(s) list, select the clients that you want to run the workflow on.
-
The Client(s) list contains actual client names.
-
In the Agent list, select the type of agent that you want to change on the clients.
-
In the Number of Parallel Upgrades list, enter the maximum number of clients that the workflow can process simultaneously.
-
You can enter a value from 1 to 20.
-
Prior to running the workflow, the system determines if a full or a synthetic full backup ran in the last 45 days for the subclients on the clients that you are upgrading. If no such backup ran, then the system will not migrate that client.
-
-
To ignore the pre-upgrade check and proceed with the migration regardless of whether a full or synthetic full backup ran on the subclients in the past 45 days, select Ignore Pre-Upgrade Check.
-
Click OK.
