A plan with override restrictions enabled is considered a base plan. Override restrictions define whether certain settings such as storage policy and schedule policy can be overridden in derived plans. After creating a base plan, you can modify its override restriction settings as needed.
Procedure
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Plans.
-
On the Plans page, click the name of the plan.
-
On the Plan page, in the Override restrictions tile, move the Allow plan to be overridden toggle key to the right.
Important
If you select the Allow plan to be overridden toggle key, and then click Save, you cannot clear the check box. However, you can click Cancel.
-
Specify how you want the base plan to interact with the plans that are derived from it:
-
Override required: Plans derived from this base plan do not inherit the base plan values and must have its individual values.
-
Override optional: Plans derived from this base plan can either inherit the base plan values or have different values.
-
Override not allowed: Plans derived from this base plan must inherit the base plan values.
Note
If you are modifying a setting that was set to Override optional, then you can change it only to Override not allowed. If you are modifying a setting from Override not allowed, you can change it only to Override optional.
