Repairing a Commvault Installation on a Server

You can repair a Commvault installation on the servers within the CommCell environment.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure > Servers.

   The Servers page appears.

2. For the server that you want to repair, click the action button , and then select Repair software.

   A confirmation dialog box appears.

3. To configure the reboot settings, select one of the following:

   • Do not reboot: This option will not reboot the server after repairing the software.

   • Reboot if required: This option will reboot the server only if necessary after repairing the software.

   • Always reboot: This option will always reboot the server after repairing the software.

4. To specify credentials for the server, do the following:

   1. Move the System Credentials toggle key to the right.

   2. In the User name box, enter the user name of the user who has administrative rights on the server.

   3. In the Password and Confirm password boxes, enter the password for the user name.

5. To receive an email notification about the job completion status, select the When the job completes, notify me via email check box.

6. Click Yes.

   A message appears saying that the job is started successfully.

7. To view the details of job and its associated events for repair operation, click View job details.

8. Click OK.
