You can restore Jira spaces to a different Jira instance (out of place).
Caution
All space data in the destination location is overwritten by the restored data.
Review the following considerations for out-of-place restores:
-
If the space is present, then the metadata of the space is not modified unless specifically selected for restore.
-
If the space is not present, a new space is created with the same key, name, description, and settings as the source space. You can specify a different space key during restore if needed.
-
Space configurations such as workflows, custom fields, and permission schemes are restored as configured in the source space.
-
If a user exists in the source instance but does not exist in the destination instance, site settings related to that user will be added to failed items during restore.
-
Issue icons are not backed up. After restore, issue icons may differ from the source, but the issue data will remain intact.
-
Custom workflow schemes are restored successfully. However, if the active workflow scheme was edited, the restore updates the workflow scheme and saves it as a draft. You must manually publish the workflow scheme after restore.
-
If a customer flags an issue, the issue will be restored but will not be flagged during the restore.
-
Work items web-links are not currently supported.
-
If a sub-task alone is selected to restore, the sub-task cannot be restored. The immediate parent should also be selected to restore the sub-task.
-
Custom issue-hierarchy is not supported. If restore is performed for them, then it will be restored as user story and parent-child link for them is also not supported.
-
Cross project parent-child link cannot be restored.
-
Cross project issue links also cannot be restored.
