Restore Pinecone content

You can restore Pinecone content to the original account or to a different cloud account.

To restore the indexes, do the following:

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > AI & Analytics.

  2. Click the Pinecone instance.

  3. Select the recovery point, and then click Restore.

  4. Select the Pinecone index that you want to restore. You can only restore one instance at a time.

  5. Click Restore.

  6. In destination client, select the Pinecone account to which you want to restore the index to.

  7. Under Pinecone Index Options, select how you want to restore the index:

    • Use Source Index: Use this option to restore the index to the original location.

    • Use Custom Index: Use this option for cross-cloud or cross-region restores.

      1. In Index name, enter a name for the index.

      2. From the Cloud provider list, select the cloud provider.

        Note

Pinecone does not support importing data from Amazon S3 into Azure or Google Cloud indexes. To avoid restore failures, use Override Staging Configuration with Azure Blob Storage or Google Cloud Storage staging credentials.

      3. From the Region list, select a region.

  8. By default, the staging information configured during instance creation is used. To override staging path, enable Override Staging Configuration, and then configure the following:

    1. In Storage integration ID, enter the storage integration identifier.

    2. In Staging path, enter the full path to the staging location.

    3. In Credential, select an existing credential or create a new credential.

  9. Click Restore.
