You can restore Dynamics 365 rows and tables to their original location (in-place) or to a different location (out-of-place) if required.
Supported Relationship Restores
| Feature | Supported |
|---|---|
| Restoring primary row only | Yes |
| Restoring related rows (many-to-one relationships) | Yes (up to 3 levels) |
| In-place relationship restores | Yes |
| Out-of-place relationship restores | No (relationships not preserved when restoring to a different environment) |
| Read-only tables | No (not backed up or restored) |
Important
-
Only many-to-one relationships are backed up and restored. Other relationship types (for example, one-to-many) aren’t followed during restore operations.
-
When restoring to a different location, only standalone records / table rows restore — the relationship hierarchy does not carry over.
-
Comprehensive environment recovery (including all referential integrity and system metadata) should be supported with native Microsoft tools as a supplement for disaster recovery scenarios.
-
You can use the search field in the upper-right corner of the page to locate the item you want to restore. To narrow the results, use the Item name, Type, Modified, and Size metadata filters in the advanced search options. You can also search by Name, Modified by, Created by, Modified on, and Owner.
