Restoring DB2 MultiNode Logs

You can restore log files separately or together with the database you want to restore.

By default, the software restores the log files to the DB2 retrieve path specified during the installation of the DB2 Agent.

Use archive log restores in the following cases:

  • When the database fails and needs to be recovered to its most recent state, restore all the logs along with the database.

  • When logs from a specific time range are lost due to a hard disk corruption, perform a point-in-time restore.

  • When you need to restore specific log files that are missing in the database, you can identify the logs using time ranges.

Note

For both DB2 DPF and DB2 pureScale configurations, all nodes must be available in order for a log restore to succeed.
