You can restore a Google Cloud Spanner database to a different location (out of place).
Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Databases page appears.

On the Instances tab, click the instance to change the access node for.
The Instances page appears.

On the Database groups tab, for the database group that contains the database to restore, click the action button
, and then click Backup history.The Job history page appears.

Click the backup job ID that you want to restore.
The job ID page appears.

Click Restore.
The Backup content page appears.

Select the database and then click Restore.
The Restore options dialog box appears.

Select Out of place.
-
Select the cloud account.

In Instances, select the destination instance.

To override the existing user credential by another user credential, select Override credentials for restore, and then from the Credential list, select a user credential.

Specify to overwrite or merge data at the destination:

To overwrite the existing data with the backed up data, select Overwrite databases.

To merge the existing data with the backed up data, select Merge databases.

You can configure a schedule to repeat this restore operation. To create a schedule, do the following:

Click Schedule.
The Add schedule dialog box appears.

In the Name box, type a name for the schedule.

Configure the Frequency and Repeat parameters.

To specify exceptions to the schedule, click Exceptions.
The Exceptions dialog box appears.

Configure the exception parameters:

You can click Add Exception to save a set of exception parameters and continue adding sets of exception parameters.

Click Save when you have finished configuring the exception parameters.

Under the Range of recurrence section, specify the Start date and End date to schedule the recurrence range of the restore operation.

To save the schedule and return to the restore dialog box, click Schedule.

Click Submit.
