You can browse and restore backed up data to a disk for an entire database or for individual databases.
For an IntelliSnap subclient or a block-level enabled subclient, you can restore only transaction logs to a disk. For a regular subclient, you can restore both data and logs to a disk based on the selected backup set.
Before You Begin

Verify that the PostgreSQL software version on the destination is the same version or higher than the software version.
Procedure
FSBasedBackupSet Restore

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The database Overview page appears.

Go to Instances tab.
-
Click an instance.
The instance overview page appears.
-
On the Backup sets tab, click FSBasedBackupSet.
The FSBasedBackupSet overview page appears.
-
Click Backup history.
The Job history page appears.
-
In the row for the job ID, click the action button, and then click Restore.
The Backup content page appears.
-
Select the databases and click Restore.
The Restore options dialog box appears.
-
Select Out of place.
-
In the Restore type box, select Restore to disk.
-
From the Destination client list, select the destination host for the restore.
-
Set the From time and To time to list the backup jobs available to restore.

To use a different account than the one configured for the PostgreSQL instance, move the Impersonate user toggle key to the right, and then enter the user name and password that have the necessary permissions to restore the application data.

To restore only the log files, select the Restore transaction logs only check box.

Under Pre or Post options, do the following:

In the Pre recovery command box, enter the name or path of the process to run before the restore.

In the Post recovery command box, enter the name or path of the process to run after the restore.

If you want to initiate the restore as user, move the Run as User toggle button to right.

In the User name box, enter a user name you want to run the restore with.

To send a notification email when the restore job completes, select the When the job completes, notify me via email.

You can configure a schedule to repeat this restore operation. To create a schedule, do the following:

Click Schedule.
The Add schedule dialog box appears.

In the Name box, type a name for the schedule.
-
Configure the Frequency and Repeat parameters.
-
To specify exceptions to the schedule, click Exceptions.
The Exceptions dialog box appears.

Configure the exception parameters:

You can click Add Exception to save a set of exception parameters and continue adding sets of exception parameters.

Click Save when you have finished configuring the exception parameters.

Under the Range of recurrence section, specify the Start date and End date to schedule the recurrence range of the restore operation.

To save the schedule and return to the restore dialog box, click Schedule.

Click Submit.
DumpBasedBackupSet Restore

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The database Overview page appears.

Go to Instances tab.

Click an instance.
The instance Overview page appears.

On the Backup sets tab, click DumpBasedBackupSet.
The DumpBasedBackupSet overview page appears.

Click Backup history.
The Job history page appears.

In the row for the job ID, click the action button, and then click Restore.
The Backup content page appears.

Select the databases and click Restore.
The Restore options dialog box appears.

Select Out of place.
-
In the Restore type box, select Restore to disk.
