Restoring a SharePoint Document to Its Current Location (In Place)

You can restore a SharePoint document to its current location (in place).

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Kubernetes > Applications.

  2. Click SharePoint.

    The SharePoint page appears.

  3. Click the documents server that contains the data that you want to back up.

    The documents server page appears.

  4. On the Contents tab, in the row for the subclient that contains the data that you want to restore, click the action button action_button, and then select Restore.

    The Backup content page appears.

  5. Select the content to restore.

  6. Click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  7. Under SharePoint Online, select Restore the data to its original location.

  8. If a document selected for restore already exists at the destination, under File options, select one of the following options to restore:

    • To overwrite the document at the destination, select Unconditional overwrite.

    • To skip the document from getting restored at the destination, select Skip.

    • To merge an existing version of a library or list level in a version library, select Merge.

      For example, there are 3 versions of a document, and version 2 is deleted. If you select Merge, and then select version 2, the deleted version is restored as version 2.

    • To add a new version of the document in a version library, select Append.

      For example, there are 3 versions of a document, and version 2 is deleted. If you select Append, and then select version 2, the deleted version is added as version 4.

  9. Under Advanced options, do the following:

    • To restore the permissions that are attached to a SharePoint object, select the Restore ACLs only check box.

    • To restore the workflow definition and alerts, select the Restore workflow definition and alerts only check box.

  10. Click Restore.
