Considerations for restricted regions

Some cloud regions are restricted by the cloud provider and might require approval before use. For region availability and access requirements, see the cloud provider documentation.

Review the following considerations before you configure protection in a restricted region:

  • Verify that the account or subscription has access to that region. If you do not have access, contact the cloud provider to request access.

  • Verify that the required workload and service are supported in the target region.

  • If infrastructureless services are not available in a region, protect workloads by using your own infrastructure with a Commvault Cloud backup gateway.

  • For services that support auto-scaling or auto-provisioning, support might be limited to specific commercial regions. If the target region is restricted or otherwise outside the supported scope, use a supported deployment model instead of auto-provisioning.
