Reverting Salesforce Objects to a Previous Restore Point

You can revert to a previous Salesforce restore point.

Before You Begin

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Salesforce.

    The Salesforce Overview page appears.

  2. Go to the Organizations tab.

  3. In the Name column, click the app.

    The app details page appears.

  4. On the Compare tab, from the Select compare type list, select Object compare.

  5. From the Select source date and Select date to compare lists, select the dates for the backups that you want to compare.

  6. Click Compare.

    The Object summary page appears.

Columns display the number of object records that were added, modified, and deleted, and the total number of objects in the old and new backups.

  7. To filter the object comparison results, click + Add filter.

    The Filters dialog box appears.

    1. From the Filter by list, select the filter that you want to use.

    2. From the Condition list, select the condition that you want to apply to the filter.

    3. Beside the condition, enter a value.

    4. To add additional rules to filter by, click Add Rule.

    5. Click Apply Filters.

  8. Beside the object that you want to revert, select the check box, and then click Revert.

The Revert options dialog box appears.

  9. In the Options section, do the following:

    • To include parent objects in the restore, move the Revert parent object records toggle to the right.

      Important

Including parent objects has the following effects:

      • Data integrity is maintained. If parent objects are included and some parents do not exist or some parents have incorrect values, the restore still completes.

      • When objects such as User objects are updated, end users receive notifications, which might not be desirable.

    • To include dependent objects in the restore, move the Revert dependent object records toggle to the right and then select Immediate or All for Dependent object level.

By default, the Commvault software selects all the dependent objects based on your selection for Dependent object level. From the Included dependent objects list, you can select the dependent objects that you want to include in restore.

  10. Click Run.

  11. Click Confirm.
