Setting Up the Basic Retention Rule

Use the following steps for setting up the retention rules:

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Plans.

    The Plans page appears.

  2. In the Plan name column, select a backup plan.

    The Overview page of the backup plan appears.

  3. Go to Backup destinations tab.

  4. In the Backup destinations tile, select the snap copy to add retention rules for.

    The Configuration page of the snap copy appears.

  5. In the Retention rules tile, click Edit edit button outline grey/gray pencil.

    The Edit retention settings dialog box appears.

  6. Enable the data aging by moving the Enable data aging toggle key to the right.

  7. Select retention period and then enter the number of days to retain the data.

  8. Click Save.

    The Confirm dialog box appears.

  9. Click Yes.
