Setting Up Extended Retention Rules

Use the following steps for setting up the extended retention rules:

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Plans.

    The Plans page appears.

  2. In the Plan name column, select a backup plan.

    The Overview page of the backup plan appears.

  3. Go to Backup destinations tab.

  4. In the Backup destinations tile, select the snap copy to add retention rules for.

    The Configuration page of the snap copy appears.

  5. In the Retention rules tile, click Edit edit button outline grey/gray pencil.

    The Edit retention settings dialog box appears.

  6. Enable the extended retention rules by moving the Extended Retention rules toggle key to the right.

  7. Set the extended retention rules as follows:

    1. Click Add.

    2. From the Type list, select the type of full backup to perform.

    3. Under Retention period, enter the number of days to retain the backup.

  8. Repeat Step 7 to configure additional extended retention.

  9. Click Save.

    The Confirm dialog box appears.

  10. Click Yes.
