The Dell EMC TimeFinder Clone engine creates full point-in-time volume copies called clones, which are used for the backup copy operation.
Target Devices
Use the BCV+TDEV configuration for the volume type as target devices. For Dell EMC TimeFinder Clone engines, to create clones, use target devices that have the same size, which is determined by the number of cylinders.
You can use the thin device (TDEV) configuration as target devices too. To use TDEVs as target devices, the devices should be part of the host device group and should be added as target devices with the -tgt option.
