Updating Commvault Software on a File Server

You can update the Commvault software on an existing file server.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

   The File Servers page appears.

2. In the Actions column for the server, click the action button , and then click Update software.

   The Confirm software update dialog box appears.

3. To configure the reboot settings, select one of the following:

   • Do not reboot: This option will not reboot the server after the software upgrade.

   • Reboot if required: This option will reboot the server only if necessary after the software upgrade.

   • Always reboot: This option will always reboot the server after the software upgrade.

4. To receive an email notification about the job completion status, select the When the job completes, notify me via email check box.

5. Click Yes to confirm the update operation.
