Commvault Flex Open

Commvault Flex Open is a data protection platform that runs on VaultOS, Commvault's hardened operating system, and gives customers the flexibility to use their own server, storage, and network infrastructure.

Unlike the Flex Appliance, which uses certified hardware and storage components, Flex Open allows organizations to deploy Commvault on hardware of their choice while still benefiting from a simplified, integrated architecture. It consolidates key Commvault functions—including the MediaAgent, Access Node, Index Server, and Threat Analysis services—into a single platform that can be deployed with or without attached storage.
