A storage resource pool is a set of infrastructure settings, such as region and MediaAgent group, that enables tenant admins to create bundled storage plans.
Prerequisites
Before creating a storage resource pool, create a server group that contains the MediaAgents in the regions that you want to use.
Procedure
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.
The Infrastructure page appears.
-
Click the Resource Pools tile.
The Resource Pools page opens.
-
Click Add > Storage.
The Add Storage Resource Pool configuration page appears.
-
In the Name field, enter a unique name for the storage resource pool.
-
From the MediaAgent Group list, select the server group that contains the MediaAgents in the regions that you want to use.
-
From the Select vendor list, select the cloud vendor.
-
In the Supported Regions section, click Add +, and configure the region mapping:
-
Storage region: Select the storage region.
-
MediaAgent Region: Select the MediaAgent region to use when provisioning storage in the selected storage region. The MediaAgent region can be the same as or different from the storage region.
-
-
To configure additional storage regions, click Add + and add the required storage-to-MediaAgent region mappings.
Note
You can map multiple storage regions to the same MediaAgent region. This configuration is useful when MediaAgents are not available in every storage region and you want to reuse existing infrastructure across regions.
-
Click Save.
Result
The storage resource pool is created with the configured storage-to-MediaAgent region mappings. During storage provisioning, the MediaAgent region mapped to the selected storage region is used.
