Modify settings for VMware vSphere hypervisors

After you add a VMware vCenter server, you can modify its settings to update access, performance, or connectivity.

Go to the hypervisor

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Virtual machines.

  2. On the Hypervisor tab, click the hypervisor.

Configure VMware vSphere-specific settings

These settings are used in specific scenarios and aren’t required for most environments.

  • Credentials for VMware services: Add or update service credentials for VMware services such as NSX when you need to back up and restore NSX tags on VMware vCenter VMs.

  • SSL/TLS management: If certificate validation succeeds when you create the hypervisor but the certificate later expires, backup and restore operations fail.

    To restore connectivity, you can do one of the following:

    • Re-establish the connection: Click Edit in the SSL/TLS management area, and then click Re-establish connection.

    • Trust the certificate: Enable the Trust SSL/TLS certificate toggle.

    • Update the thumbprint: If the certificate has changed.

    • Temporarily disable certificate validation, and then re-enable it after you restore connectivity.

Save changes

  1. Review your changes.

  2. Click Save.

Changes apply to future backup and restore operations.
