Onboard workloads into a SaaS ring from an on-premises CommCell

You can onboard workloads for configuring backups in Commvault Cloud SaaS from an on-premises CommCell.

Prerequisites

Before onboarding workloads, verify that the on-premises CommCell meets the following requirements:

  • The CommCell is licensed and registered with Commvault Cloud SaaS.

  • The CommCell does not have the application license required to configure backups for the supported workloads.

  • The CommCell has connectivity to Commvault Cloud SaaS.

  • No companies are available in the CommCell.

  • Allow outbound HTTPS traffic on TCP port 443 from the on-premises CommCell to cloud.commvault.com and \*.metallic.io

Supported workloads

  • Dynamics 365

  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Teams)

  • Google Workspace (GDrive, Gmail)

  • Salesforce

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the Command Center.

  2. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Service catalog.

    The Service catalog page appears.

  3. Go to the tile for the workload that you want to configure backups for.

  4. Click Configure.

    The configure page appears.

  5. Select SaaS, and then click Continue.

    The Commvault Cloud login page appears.

    Note: Dynamics 365 solution is available only through Commvault Cloud. Hence, this step does not apply to Dynamics 365.

    The Commvault Cloud account required dialog box appears.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Do one of the following:

    • To authenticate using SAML, enable the Is this registered via SAML? toggle key, and then enter your SAML username in the Username field, and then click Login.

    • If you are not using SAML and have an existing company in Commvault Cloud SaaS , enter the company user credentials in the Username and Password fields, and then click Login.

    • If you do not have a company in Commvault Cloud SaaS and need to create a new one, do the following:

      1. Click Register for Commvault Cloud.

      2. In Company name, enter a company name.

      3. From the Provisioning country list, select a country where Commvault Cloud SaaS offering is available.

      4. Select the I agree to the Terms and Conditions check box.

      5. Click Register.

    A CommCell list appears at the top-right corner of the page, and the user interface switches to the company in Commvault Cloud SaaS.
